About This Portfolio
This portfolio is a single-page app built with React 19, Vite 7 and React Router 7, styled with Tailwind CSS v4 and animated with Framer Motion. It's deployed on Vercel. The design is neo-brutalist with an engineering feel: 2px borders, hard offset shadows with no blur, monospace labels styled like stamps, and emerald and yellow accents on a near-black background. Space Grotesk handles headings and JetBrains Mono handles metadata, so the page reads partly like an editorial layout and partly like a terminal. Visual effects: I chose not to use WebGL or canvas shaders. Every effect is pure CSS, so the site stays light and fast on low-end phones. The background dot grid is a repeating radial-gradient. Warning areas use 45-degree hazard stripes made with repeating-linear-gradient. Photos get a dithered, print-like look from a grayscale and high-contrast filter. The scroll progress bar has an emerald box-shadow that glows like neon. The result has a strong look while the GPU cost stays close to zero. Micro-interactions: Buttons behave like physical keys. On hover they lift 2px and the hard shadow grows, and on press they sink and the shadow disappears. A spring-driven progress bar (Framer Motion useScroll plus useSpring) tracks scroll position along the top edge. Pressing Cmd/Ctrl+K opens a command palette for jumping to sections, switching theme, opening the AI assistant or replaying the intro, and you can use it entirely from the keyboard with the arrow keys and Enter. The intro is a fake terminal boot screen with a live clock, log lines that print one by one, and an ASCII block progress meter. It slides away with a custom ease and can be skipped with Esc. Copy actions show spring-animated toasts, and any component can trigger one through a small custom-event bus. The sidebar highlights the section you're reading using an IntersectionObserver and shows a live clock set to Manila time. Interactive labs: The site also has playable tools.
