Set up your DEV/STATION public profile and projects.
By DEV/STATION · Published
To claim a new DEV/STATION subdomain, your account needs an approved, visible portfolio in the archive. Prepare your public profile, choose an available address and publish it from your account. Then use Manage projects to add personal work. Personal projects do not need routine admin approval, but they do not become reviewed archive submissions.
Check whether you can claim an address
Signing up alone does not unlock a new subdomain. Your signed-in account must own at least one approved portfolio that is not hidden. Submit your work through the regular review process first if you do not meet that requirement.
You can prepare a profile draft or skip setup while waiting. An existing claimed address stays reserved to its account when the profile is unpublished. An example address is your-name.dev-station.dev; the actual address depends on availability and the naming rules shown during setup.
Publish only the details you want visitors to see
Open Public profile in your account workspace. Add a display name, headline, bio and the social or contact links you want to share. A public contact email is optional; do not add information you want to keep private.
Review the address and public details, then use Publish & claim address for your first publication. Open the resulting public link while signed out to check what visitors can see. You can hide your public profile later; hiding it does not release its claimed address.
Add personal projects from Manage projects
Choose Manage projects in your avatar menu or workspace navigation. Add a title and a description explaining the project and your contribution. You can include technologies, a thumbnail, a live demo link or a repository link. Links are optional, so work without a public demo or repository can still be described.
Mark the project as Completed or In progress and choose whether to publish it. Published projects are shown to visitors only when the profile is also published. A saved draft is not a public project.
- Describe what the project does and what you contributed.
- Use images and links you are allowed to share.
- Remove credentials, private documents and client information.
- Check the public profile after publishing.
Understand the difference from the portfolio archive
Publishing a personal project does not add it to the reviewed portfolio archive, leaderboard or museum. Archive publication follows the separate portfolio submission and review process.
Personal projects publish without routine admin approval. Community standards, reporting and staff moderation still apply. A published personal project is not an editorial award or a DEV/STATION endorsement.
